1、FireDetection:
Specializedsoftwareprovidestheneededspeedofmeasurementtodetectthebuild-upofheatortheoutbreakoffire.TheForesight™B-DTSoffersgreaterrangeforsensingwithoutreductioninspatialresolution1.Alengthoffibercanbelaidoutinalargegridtopinpointa

firewithinacoupleofmeters.With2.5metersresolutionfor20kmsensingrange,thetemperaturecanbemeasuredwithanuncertaintyof

only±1.5°Cwithinarangeof0°Cto100°C,inlessthan24seconds.

2、Oil&GasPipelineMonitoring:
AssesstheintegrityofpipelineswiththeuseoftheForesight™B-DTS. Bymeasuringthelocalizedchangesintemperatureassociatedwiththeventingordecompressionfromthepipeline,theB-DTS providesalarmsandnotificationofeventsalongtheentiremonitoredareaautomaticallyviaitssoftware.Suchleaksresultincooling

orheating,dependingonthepipeline,thatisdetectableusingtheB-DTS.Itsenhancedrangeofperformanceandbetter immunitytohydrogenattenuationmakestheB-DTSalogicalchoiceinpipelinemonitoring.

4、PowerCableMonitoring:
Opticalsensingprovidesforthedirectmeasurementofheatassociatedwithcorrosioninpowercables.Additionally,existinginfrastructure

canbeoperatedmoreefficientlyandcarrymoreloadsafelybythedirectmeasurementoftemperature.TheForesight™B-DTS provides excellent rangefortemperaturemeasurement:upto100kmsensingrange.Byusingabuilt-in optical switch, 200km can easily be monitoredviabythesameB-DTS.Furthermore,built-insoftwarecontrolsallowtheeasyuseofexternalopticalswitchesfromtheB-DTS aswell,greatlyenhancingandexpandingthenumberofcablesbeingmonitoredbyasingleB-DTS.

5、MacroTemperatureMonitoring:

variances.ThesuperiorrangeofspatialresolutionandlowcostofsinglemodefiberforsensingmakestheB-DTS an ideal choice for macro measurements.

6、CryostatTemperatureMeasurement:
TheB-DTShassuccessfullymeasuredtemperaturesbelow25°Kelvin.Onesuchapplicationwasthemonitoringofheatbuild-upinasuperconductor.Withrapid,continuousmeasurements,theB-DTSismorethanjustatemperatureprobe.Itcanactasanearlywarningandalarmsystemtopreventthermalrunawayofthe
